General Audition Information
Pinellas Youth Symphony 2010-2011 Season 

Rehearsals for all orchestras will take place on Sunday afternoons, beginning September 12, 2010 (beginning string classes begin September 19, 2010) between the hours of 2:30-7:00 p.m. in the Marcia P. Hoffman Education Institute of Ruth Eckerd Hall.  Specific times for string classes and orchestra rehearsals are posted on this website under the Latest News icon. 

Audition Dates and Process:

Auditions will be held during Labor Day weekend (September 4th and 5th, 2010, and the 6th if needed) in the Education Institute of Ruth Eckerd Hall, 1111 McMullen Booth Road, Clearwater. If you are interested in auditioning for an orchestra, please submit the online registration form below. You will receive notice of your assigned audition day/time by mail, approximately one week prior to your audition date.

Please  register on-line for auditions below. A $25 non-refundable registration fee will be due at the time of your audition.

Please note: audition requirements are posted on this website and include an additional requirement of performing appropriate excerpt(s) for acceptance into a specific orchestra. Excerpts are posted on this website under the Membership link and can be downloaded for practice purposes. If you are unable to download the excerpts, notify us by email, stating the instrument you play and for which orchestra(s) you are auditioning. You may contact us by email at pysdirector@yahoo.com  or call the PYS Voicemail at 727-438-4319. A copy of the excerpt(s) will be mailed to you.

Please complete pre-registration form below. Submitting this registration form will place your child in line for classes. Class spaces will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. An email confirming the receipt of the online registration form will be sent to each applicant.  

Final registration for Beginning String Classes:
Final registration will take place on the first day of class.
